Kamineni doctors share insights on young India’s diabetes risk
This World Diabetes Day, doctors from Kamineni Hospitals, LB Nagar, shared what they are seeing in their daily practice and it is something many families can relate to. Diabetes is appearing much earlier than before. People in their 20s and 30s are walking in with symptoms and even some teenagers are being diagnosed. The doctors shared that this rise has a lot to do with the pace of modern life. Long hours of sitting, disrupted sleep and quick meals that lack balance make the body more prone to weight gain, which increases the chances of Type 2 diabetes at a young age.
They explained how Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes differ and pointed out that most of the young patients they meet fall into the lifestyle-related Type 2 category. Almost a third of the diabetic patients visiting their outpatient department each day are young adults or adolescents.
The doctors encouraged simple, steady steps. A bit of daily movement, mindful eating and regular checks including HbA1c can help manage diabetes and protect long-term health. Their message was encouraging. Awareness today can support a healthier future.
