Hyderabad, June 4, 2026 — Seven-year-old Advik was rushed to Kamineni Hospitals after a brutal stray dog attack left him with severe scalp injuries, 20+ bite wounds, unrecordable blood pressure, and a stroke mid-treatment. He was immediately placed on ventilator support in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
During treatment, a blood clot in a major neck vessel triggered an ischemic stroke, causing paralysis on the right side of his body. The team responded with blood-thinning therapy and intensive physiotherapy, achieving significant neurological recovery.
The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team rebuilt the large scalp defect using transposition flaps, skin grafting, and wound reconstruction — addressing one of the most severe dog-bite injuries seen in recent years.
A multidisciplinary team spanning emergency, PICU, neurology, and plastic surgery worked across 23 days — every specialist, every hour, every call right. Advik was discharged walking, talking, and fully himself again.
