Stories of Strength and Awareness Mark World Kidney Day at Kamineni Hospitals
World Kidney Day at Kamineni Hospitals was marked not only by medical discussions but also by powerful stories of resilience. The hospital hosted an awareness programme that brought together doctors, patients and families to talk openly about kidney health and the importance of early diagnosis.
Nearly one in ten people worldwide is affected by kidney-related conditions, yet many cases in India are detected late because of limited awareness. Doctors at the programme highlighted how early screening, regular health checks and simple lifestyle habits can help reduce risks and protect kidney function.
The most inspiring part of the event came from patients who had undergone dialysis or kidney transplantation at Kamineni Hospitals. Around 30 individuals shared their personal journeys of treatment, recovery and determination, showing that life can continue with strength and optimism even after serious illness.
To celebrate their courage, the hospital honoured several patients with special recognitions such as “Youngest Fighter” and “Iron Will.”
Doctors also reminded the community that staying hydrated, managing conditions like diabetes and hypertension and seeking timely medical care are essential steps towards protecting kidney health for the long term.
