Successfully performed an advanced TAVI procedure on a complex post-bypass patient
Kamineni Hospitals, Bogulkunta, King Koti, has successfully treated a 55-year-old woman with a serious heart valve problem — without performing open-heart surgery. The patient had previously undergone bypass surgery in 2016. Recently, she began experiencing severe breathlessness and chest pain even while walking short distances. After medical evaluation, doctors found that one of her heart valves had become severely narrowed, making it difficult for blood to flow properly. Since another open-heart surgery would have been risky, the medical team decided to perform a minimally invasive procedure called TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation). This procedure allows doctors to replace the damaged heart valve through a small tube inserted through a blood vessel in the leg, avoiding major surgery.
