Spreading awareness and support on World AIDS Day

Kamineni Hospitals marked World AIDS Day with an AIDS Awareness Walk in Hyderabad that brought together doctors, students, staff, and members of the public. The event was inaugurated by Dr Anuradha, Joint Director, Telangana SARC, who spoke about the importance of ending discrimination to control the spread of AIDS. She emphasised that awareness, early testing, and open conversations are essential for meaningful change.

During the programme, senior consultants from Kamineni Hospitals shared key insights on HIV in India and Telangana. They encouraged people to get tested if they notice symptoms such as frequent fever or persistent tiredness. The message was clear. A positive diagnosis is not a reason to panic. It is the start of proper care.

The ART Centre at Kamineni Hospitals distributes free antiretroviral medication as per government guidelines. The centre also supports patients through regular follow-ups, counselling, and awareness sessions for women, transgender persons, and other groups.

The walk closed with a strong call to build a society where every individual living with HIV receives care, dignity, and equal treatment.
